Joint GMP inspections are one of the most effective practical tools enabling regulatory authorities to exchange professional experience, align approaches to assessing compliance with GMP requirements, and lay the foundation for further cooperation.
What Is a Joint Training GMP Inspection
A joint training GMP inspection is a format in which serving inspectors from national regulatory authorities of different countries conduct an inspection of a manufacturing site for compliance with GMP requirements. Unlike theoretical training, this format gives specialists an opportunity to compare inspection approaches directly at the manufacturing site and discuss observations and their classification.
This not only facilitates the exchange of experience but also helps develop a common professional understanding of GMP requirements. This is particularly important in the context of the globalization of pharmaceutical manufacturing, where a single manufacturing site may supply products to several markets simultaneously.
A New Stage of International Cooperation – GMP Inspections within the IFPI Working Groups
Following the II International Forum of Pharmaceutical Inspectorates, representatives of the regulatory authorities participating in the Forum supported the initiative to conduct joint training GMP inspections. Its objective is to promote practical cooperation among participants and develop harmonized approaches to conducting GMP inspections.
First joint training GMP inspection was conducted on 21–22 September 2026, at the pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Moscow, Russia
